Saudi Arabia and iran on the verge of a regional war

Ali Muhammad
The Saudi objective in executing Nimr Al Nimr hoped and achieved to further the divide between Iran and the Sunni world as escalation and warfare in Yemen continues between the two groups. The Saudi Kingdom is leading the way of a Sunni alliance and hardening of relations with its Shiite population with repression and further escalation of harassment of .its own Shiite minority which will only assure more escalation of arms in the region. Nimr Al-Nimr was the biggest critic against the Saudi petro-dollar empire in cahoots with Israel and America in objectifying power to the sheiks and furthering the decline of religion in these lands. Iran is without a doubt the bulwark against gulf Sunni supremacy long using its oil wealth to keep the royal family in place as the west further criticizes the kingdom knowing full well what displacement would do to their energy needs. The rift between Sunni and Shiite only makes winners out for the royal family further splitting what could be a united front against the treatment and rule of this political elite. The cleric had been accused of leading a protest that turned violent against the police and for this he was condemned along with legitimate terrorists in the largest mass execution in Saudi Arabia in a long time. An incident like this can spark a revolution as the repressive regime of the Shah in Iran illustrated and the precarious position the United States finds its biggest ally in the region make hair on defense department officials stand as they have seen al of this before. Iran is gearing up for possible conflicts and wars with Saudi Arabia and may be joined by their new Shiite brethren in Iraq whose citizens were outraged  by this execution of a well respected holy man of their faith. the Saudi embassy was attacked for two days in Iran. it appears that Saudi officials and kingdom elites are getting tired of the rhetoric for Shiite empowerment and equality in their " Sunni" kingdom and Nimr Al Nimr's dream of Shiites in the gulf region seceding from various Sunni domination ruledoms seems to be an objective of higher demand following these brutal executions. Shiites can expect more repression and little will be done to end it unless Iran takes a more militant stance as leader of the Shiite branch of Islam in the world. Saudi officials new that adding this guy on the list of their new Years execution party would incite shit around the region and this is why exactly they wanted this external distraction on the growing economic troubles at home.
