China sucks in soccer despite it being the top spectator sport in this massive country. Chinese officials are currently debating whether to make it easier for foreign born athletes to become naturalized Chinese citizens and this has some in this ethnocentric country upset at the prospect of non-Han Chinese dominating the national team as seen in France where the soccer teams are exclusive Arab or Black. The French national team is a disgrace as France pretty much gives its citizenships to any talent in order for them to more competitive in global competitions.
As an Asian I could never understand how the French national soccer team should resemble a Caribbean or Moroccan teams so much and can never envision a similar scenario for Asia. no way in hell and there is more of a chance of Buddha remaining fat in Ethiopia than for any Asian countries to field national teams made up of Caribbean nationals. 
Foreign nationals do currently play in Chinese soccer leagues but they make a significant minority. Chinese soccer official Zhang Jian said naturalization is a "sensitive" topic as Chinese prefer to see Chinese players to don China's crimson colors and I am sure most Chinese will be patient and wait for their players to improve than to be disgraced seeing Africans call themselves Chinese and get paid to play. Zhang Jian better realize that there are one billion Chinese and if you put others on the national team in soccer this would be some disgraceful actions amounting to saying Chinese people can't be athletic and feeling the long-held stereotype and prejudices against Asian peoples. Let the foreigners play for the French and Dutch national teams and let Chinese athletes and Asians learn the game of soccer and compete on an international scene. What would be the fucking point of having countries compete against soccer if these countries can just buy up athletes from everywhere. you might as well just have a NASCAR type sponsored global tournament of international mixed teams.
