Naomi Klein tears Richard Branson a new asshole in classic climate debate book

Troy York
In Naomi Klein's 2014 great book called This Changes Everything" pretty much tells us that as the market claims it can save us from climatic disaster it at the same times continues to expand and contribute us in a hole. she pretty much proclaims that this is all heresy from these vultures just bamboozling the public about their attempts to address the climate corrosion of the planet through their destructive demands for economic growth and profit of the multi-national conglomerates dominating the energy industry. This is her most provocative book from this real fighter for environmental pushback against industry and this great woman for humanity. The best part of the book though is when she greases up Richard Branson's asshole and gives this Billionaire an ass rip for his bullshit. As head of Virgin Airlines the growth of this airliner and burning of fossil fuels directly into the atmosphere  and how hypocritical this dude is pledging to give three billion dollars, mostly of profit through subsidized tax-payer money anyway, to fight climatic change while at the same time aggressively putting out fuel-wasting jets an  incredible pace for the one percent to travel more all over. The one percent feel privileged and entitled to free stuff and have no cost to their ability to use airliners and jets as one would use a car to shop at the corner grocer. Her chapter called "No Messiahs' really examines the farce that this pledge by billionaire Sir Richard Branson. Klein points out that if he was truthful about his pledge two billion would of been spent now on investment for clean technology and Branson is not even close to that figure and apparently Virgin Atlantic's plan of donating all this money has been stalled. The only green investment he has been serious about has been greening his two private islands in the Caribbean. the man also has been aggressively investing into getting more dirty energy airplanes into the sky skyrocketing the number of flights with Virgin Atlantic's inroads into the American market. Richard Branson celebrates this growth of the most carbo-intensive form of transportation for moving people around. Naomi also points out how this creep also got into a virgin race car team to compete in formula one and another opportunity to burn some more fuel and make a mockery of his fake pledge and Branson has spent more money on his space adventure tourist dream than any clean energy transition for humanity. The author also illustrates the shell little profits this guys company actually makes and instead just pushes up debt and then sells a new created subsidiary company with the Virgin name brand to some other billionaire borrowing funny money. Richard Branson is a free-loader who received billions in subsidies from the British government and tax payers to expand his Virgin brand and then he bullshits his way into having people think he is a philanthropic hero diverting all his company's profits into tacking a climatic mess that being in the transportation business men like him contributed the most.
