Perhaps Melissa Callahan should consider animal activism or environmentalism campaigns to get interested. Melissa though has become defacto spokesperson for taxi drivers. This woman even ran for city alderman with only a platform of increasing the taxi drivers lifestyle as the central campaign of her theme. Melissa would offer the world better opportunities he she offered more important issues to be concerned about in improving. For some reason this woman is all about a dying industry and improving the lot of unskilled people whose only ability to generate income is ferrying other people around already crowded streets when many of them should be waling. The taxi industry has always been filled with corrupted businessmen who use monopolies and local law to super spend competitive people moving industry from progressing.
Why a Melissa Callahan wants to be associated with an industry such as this long closed to American people such as herself in not quite comprendo. Melissa could equally be fighting for the stripped owl's habitat or fighting for indigenous farmers and prevent their lands from being fracked and polluted. Instead this woman fights for the foreign illegal immigrant making a living in America off over-charging us for extremely short rides in many cases or bloated costs from suburbia to the airport. The taxi industry is a travesty and its demise should be celebrated and encouraged. Instead the vision that Melissa strives for is increasing the costs to consumers and sweetening the deals for this egregious industry. Melissa has long been used by the industry in public relations campaign to distort what the drivers in Chicago really look like and her lawsuits for her beleaguered industry and drivers is a losers game not really worth its weight in filing paper. This woman could do such better work for society than fighting to save this awful industry.
