The defenders of free trade in print are usually those that benefitted in life and not had to deal with the adverse affects of trade. Cokie and Steve Roberts are some journalist corporate tag-team writers often writing everything with a pro-business right-wing slant. Cokie Roberts is worried about Donald trump's rise and his anti-commerce stand. Cokie and Steve Roberts obviously never had to live in a town with just one shuttered factory and no other viable way to make a livable income and perhaps if these silver-spooned mother fuckers had to live a life like the meth heads in a Springfield somewhere they might think otherwise about the impact of free-trade on the American worker. The Roberts are puzzled by the increasing criticism from both the right and left threatens the prosperity of their loyal class...the upper class. The Roberts use the same usual claim that purchasing power of American in buying a toaster every other year for twenty bucks means something but the idiots don't realize purchasing power is limited when you don't provide good incomes and ship high-wage jobs overseas so these companies can pay their CEO's at a rate of three hundred times over the American worker instead of five times. this is the real worry and fear of the elites in more pressure on globalization which just gave the wealthy excuses to trickle up wealth and the economy from the middle and lower classes into their bracket. this is something what paid hacks like the Robert's will not announce and write about. trade is not a net benefit for this nation outside the expensive elite coastal cities which is made up half of foreign-born people who basically have hijacked the economy and this nation like an old Cuban terrorist of the nineteen sixties and have only been allowed this through distortion of the media and lies like the ones of Cokie and Steve Roberts and other syndicated columnists.
