Tax payers got bamboozled in Calumet City. The city government purchased Harry O's bar at the cost of 125,000 dollars in the towns long-standing plan to destroy the bar and drinking heritage of this once thriving area. They are particularly concerned with getting rid of neighborhood bars and taverns in residential areas as Calumet City seeks to be a cookie cost cutter development town like much of the rest of Chicago creating cheap business opportunities for Gujarat and their Dukin Donuts/convenience stores and this is the real goal of these corrupt local villages. There was a problem with the purchase of this bar though because this deal stands out for Calumet City Ald. Nick Manousopoulos’ family owns and operates the tavern, Harry O’s No. 1 Bar at 816 Burnham Ave., according to interviews, and records obtained by the Better Government Association. The family owned more thn thirty grand to the IRS for not paying any taxes for tis liquor establishment. The village agreed to bail out the Manousopoulos family, who is related to our own Alex Mousolopolous writer here at the Left shark. When ever these Greek last names are so similar but changed by a few letters they are related and Greeks are as corrupt as Indian people from the state of Gujarat where all of your Indian shopkeepers in the West hail from. This Greek alderman and his actions to bail out his family's cruddy bar smells. Obviously this was another Greek property owners who were sitting on property hoping to sell out to BP or Shell than to have to sell to the government at deflated prices. This bar then was sold for a huge loss to the village to some connected Spanish guy who plans on putting another tasty stale taquieria in this spot and an opportunity to join the tax-dodging and lowering business clan of families. Jose Rojas, Who now owns property may even decide to have a few of his relatives to get on the government payroll and get on the village board of Calumnet City. Luckily where I live the few taverns are left alone in Itasca, Illinois and I can continue bartend at the Itasca Inn behind Tree Guys Pizzeeria over on Irving Park Road and not worry about local politics and real estate ventures that eventually become exposed for all to see.
