Denmark's new tax a war on meat over-eaters

  Dave Berkson
The biggest contributors to green-house gas emissions is the meat industry and the necessities of the production of beef that has done more to lead to an extreme obesity visual problem in the west.  The Danish council recommended a huge tax on beef and that the country should be ethically obligated to change the eating habits of Danes. The promotion of foods to climatic impact should be imposed and it is great to see this progressive country actually consider steps to address the issues facing the planet and fat people over-eating and obsessing with food is a major problem  I have known several jackass over-eater meaters who show images of what they will grill on the weekend and often thought to myself as this is why they resemble the animals they think about grilling their carcasses. A huge tax on meat products would hit their pocketbooks and image as many are actually proud of their girths. this is an important step toward forcing people to realize that dietary habits do affect the world around us. Meat has not been part of the global conversation about climate change for far too long, as governments fear backlash from powerful meat lobbies and the angry public, and as a result many individuals have not yet learned about the impact it has. Whats beautiful about this tax proposal is that it will drive American conservatives nuts and paranoid that this thought will come across the sea. People need to pay more for their disproportionate environment impact.   The tide seems to be changing, as the Council’s suggestion shows. Now, if only the rest of the world would pay attention and follow suit. as someone who is a quarter Dane along with Russian ,English, and German it makes me a quarter proud the Danes are making these steps. In Copenhagen most bike to work and a minority actually own an automobile so this country has a history of being concerned ab out improving their carbon footprint and raising awareness of climate-damaging foods  must be a goal and united front of all progressive modern statts in the war against fat people and animal abuse.Minced_beef_meat_cowcattle Denmark Ethics Council Calls for Tax on Red Meat to Fight 'Ethical Problem' of Climate Change Minced beef meat cowcattle
