Professor Michael Munger given opportunity to blast government with Texas cities Uber regulation

Professor Michael Munger is upset at the treatment of Uber and Lyft in Austin Texas and Houston. these Texas trailer park trash towns required Uber to fingerprint their drivers and make it really inconvenience for the company to operate as these cities prefer the cab industries money and decided to squash a potential rival . Professor Munger was upset about this and tweeted about the lack of a free-market in this supposedly progressive and technology driven city of Austin. You can take the trailors out of their lifestyle with higher incomes but these jacks are still Texas Red-state bastards. Uber and Lyft decided to leave these cities after this legislation as they said the costs and tie to fingerprint drivers is unbearable. Uber and Lyft are new companies that don't have the resources to do extended back searches of all its independent contractor drivers and the cities of Houston and Austin new this and is why they passed this legislation. Uber and Lyft already did background checks but a fingerprint check is unnecessary and cause much confusion for drivers who were booked and fingerprinted and had their case dropped as is often the case with most petty  arrests. professor Munger said this is government overreach and unnecessary regulation that was backed by a small ten percent of registered voters who voted to uphold this council requirement for ride-sharing programs. The real losers are the people of Austin who depended on this ride-sharing program to get around what is still mostly a sprawl Southern city despite consist reports of this place always being a oasis of progressivism. The Austin case shows that progressive cities can sometimes stifle innovation and growth. there fucking cab companies hold all of the only nine hundred taxi medallions in the city and for many people in this fast growing and ugly sprawl city there are now few transportation options. ride-sharing companies ar here for good and this temporary setback and regulataroy process to help cab companies to monopolize their trade will not win out in the long-run a s the freemarket and consumer preferences will eventually win out and need to be embraced by government and not strangle it. cases like this also give credence to libertarians such as Michael Munger and illustrate actual cases of government over=reach in squashing a much needed alternative transportation option by government on these companies as local governments have long had cab companies putting jingle in their pockets.
