Lebron James accomplished what he had set out with his return I Cleveland and his performance these championship finals was a major annoyance to the thousands of haters of this athlete. By winning the championship and ending the drought for the city of Cleveland was nice but more needs to be made of the real challenges the economic forces that empower star athletes as Lebron James have put on places like Cleveland. You wouldn't know it from the media byt the city of Cleveland had many more social issues than not having a championship for forty years.
The same forces that have hallowed out living conditions I this once powerful economic area that provided so many jobs for generations is basically the same forces that enriched a corporate state. A corporate state that diverts wealth in narrow fields such as heath and sports and places like Cleveland have struggled for decades because of this destruction of cities by the corporate global economies choosing which areas to reward and which to destroy. For some reason Cleveland it was decided long ago that it was no longer an area to direct expenditure for economic development and increase in workers wages. Cleveland was the victim of a vicious class war from the business industry and only Detroit may have suffered more of an impact. Sports was a major weapon used by the wealthy class to divert public money and use it as a vehicle to growth the incomes of suburban cronies at the expense of the poor and working classes. Instead it was decided that money should go into television revuen ue and the broadcasting of live sports as important for society and the few individuals who benefit from this inequality and structure set up to affirm it. Many will try to deny it but there is a direst consequence of major money directed towards professional sports and the increase of poverty and desolution in massive areas aroud the country such as Cleveland as important resources and money is taken away so owners and players can have fat paychecks. Conservatives love sports not because of the sporting nature and competition but because of its ability to keep the establishment in power and wealthy. Sports is a good outlet to distract members of a community that their conditions are not the fault of their own but outside forces determined to keep areas devoid of improvement and conditions poor for a cheap desperate labor pool willing to take anything. Those who benefit from sports and use their companies to sponsorship it are only able to have this scam of the economy continual because of the distraction and misinformation by the media that major sports plays for a region and no where is this more evident than the misery of Cleveland and the end of one sports drought but the perpetuation of an more important one that really effects living conditions of this once prosperous city.
