Datta Phuge flaunted his gold wealth by finding ways where he could wear it and walk past pockets of deep poverty in India.
Datta Phuge shot into the global limelight in 2013 when he bought a shirt made with more than 3kg of gold and worth $250,000 (£186,943).
A money lender based in western Pune, Mr Phuge was called "the gold man".
Four persons have been detained for questioning. Police suspect four people beat this money swindler to death in a dispute either for money or you guessed it...gold. Mr. Phuge wore more gold than Mr T and was more cocky than Muhammed Ali and the odds were against this guy with his gold obsession and desire to express and visibly and quite literally display his wealth.
The morale of this story is if you do have tons of gold bricks stored and lots of cash reserves and being filthy rich it is probably not incumbent upon yourself to flaunt this wealth and ahhh I want to say especially in a place like India that has massive inequality. The assailants had invited Mr. Phuge to a party and he brought his son and no sooner had he sliced a cake of rumi cake the four assailants had felled upon the guy with bricks and sticks and a thuggish murder just like in the old days in India. The son was not attacked and undoubtedly will inherit all of his fathers gold and thus will now be known as the Gold Man II The revenge.
