Palatial athletic facilities in high schools are the newest thing and a way for wealthy people to use school funding and claimed local pride to profit for themselves and build these million dollar stadiums. Allen High school near Dallas spent a sixty million dollar stadium is perhaps the most egregious form of manipulation of monetary resources for sports instead of education. The exorbitant t spending this rotten state of Texas consistently draws away from companies and towards school sports has been staggering and this new stadium galvanized fiscal watchdogs again to examine the school districts in Texas and why they are spending so much money to be a minor league instead of an educational facility for learning. Corrupt law professor Roger Abrams talked of this and wrote a book called "Playing Tough. The World Of Sports and Politics and in the book Abrams assets that the community supports these projects because they enjoy watching football at all levels. He says nobody would question this spending if it were a science building but this outlandish comment is exactly what is the problem as school districts would be spending on science or the arts.
No high school should have more than a five thousand seat stadium. Its because of the stranglehold of corporate partnership arrangements using advertising's position ton control and deny other more important education expenditure. Abrams is simply an ass that justifies spending decisions of the rich that only benefit the established rich members of the porting world and its sales. Again because of corporations is why certain sports are pushed and those with most potential to divert money into sales of gear are the ones favorited by the system. The reliance of the economy on advertising in this country is why is Texas and many others spend so extravagantly on sports related projects instead of academic and is fully to explain why the country is ranking in fortieth place among education around the world. projects like this are just used to funnel money into a narrow stream and denying opportunities for others and stuff like this causes the massive inequality one sees between schools and society. The sports marketers are using their powerful war chest donated through this inequality and love of sports of the wealthy to set up an infrastructure that is slowly replacing school in general and is the major contributor to the dummning down of America and rise of violence and love in culture.
