An army veteran named Glenn called Thom Hartmann and told Thom and his audience that people need to get right off their ass from poverty and work hard for the system. Thomas Hartmann couldn't believe the ignorance of this conservative caller who likes to see out economy do bad as it forces a huge chunk of the youth to join our nations military force which has practically become a de facto mercenary army for hire and for out defense industry to reap billions. Thy have more than willing mops like caller Glen who are born in poverty and gladly join American empire all while bashing those on welfare and using social benefits from the state.
Thom Hartmann reminded caller Glen that out tax dollars subsidizes this military that gave Glenn an opportunity to join and overseas but here is a point that Glen and the other conservatives who parade the military as options out of poverty do not get. Not everyone believes in serving to kill for rich peoples assets as well as having a career living in an isolated camp in Kentucky where the nearest Kentucky Fried Chicken is five miles away and there are strict restrictions on where one can move about and have to wear military fatigues.
Glenn think that Americas poor need to quit whining and join the military and I guess ahhh be stationed in South Korea and be glorified security guards for South Koreans property and lives. Thom Hartmann proceeded to rip this callers ass for wanting subsidized health care for the suckers wiling to join Americas military to protect wealthy Asians,Africans, Europeans and Arabs and the trade that brings them the right to wear Rolex watches. Thom Hartmann asked this caller Glenn why we should subsidize health care for Americas veterans and why all people should not get great quality health care t little cost like the punks and hicks who join the military and wish to look like a cyborg with all the equipment to wear every day.
