For the past thirty years The Chicago White Sox and their dwindling fan base attempting to stay afloat with this pathetic organization had to deal with a broadcaster from hell one of the worse men of broadcast and sports announcing. Ed Farmer was a journeyman pitcher having been a relief pitcher and closer with a short career and unfortunately his broadcast career was not as short as his playing days. Many Chicago White Sox fans were puzzled though the years how such a pathetic and bad announcer maintain his job for so long obviously being hated and a Ed farmer along with fellow lat dead television broadcaster en
Harrleson were allowed secure easy gigs for so long because the White Sox owner and authoritarian Jerry Reinsdorff demanded so and he enjoyed having these two dead knuckleheads call the game son television and radio. Al Cowens beat the shit out of this mother fucker one day in 77 or 79 or maybe in 1978. Baseball is in free fall and one of the tings that makes this aging fan base and sport so unpopular especially with the younger audiences is that they are dominated in broadcast by the same hierarchical announces and boomers who are so lame and bad young people are like"Ok Boomers". baseball is already a ridiculously slow and boring sport but things can be made worse having these boomers an ridiculous announcers. The Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox have had legendary bean brawls through the year sbut perhaps none more famous than the one Ed Farmer and Al Ghetto were involved in in 1976. I will always recall Ed Farmer being a shitty pitcher who got his ass
handed to him on the diamond much to the delight of my friends and I watching after Al Cowens hit a ground ball and he turned around and Mr Cowens avenged when Farmer hit him and broke his jaw on purpose with a bean ball where he ran behind into Mr Ed after a ground ball instead of running to first base. . This guy had absolute no business to be on the radio for so long broadcasting games as he was not a legendary layer nor interesting hip announcer and Ed Farmer must have had something on Jerry Reinsdorff or been a dam good and personal friend. As an announcer Ed farmer was a stinker and he without baseball this geeky clown ahhh would of been a gas stain pumper, garbage man, or ahhhh basically a farmer or something. Ed Farmer dead from voice cancer and coronvirus at the age of 83.
