For thirty years American policy makers marked Egypt as their bitch and a country that would do to their whim. They did not want free elections to this old land because they knew the political power of political Islam after their Shah was disposed in Iran and all that oil money that came with it. The Islamic revolution of Iran scared the shit out of them and they doubled down on their aid to the Mubarek dictatorship. After the Arab spring and free elections put a religious man whose party wanted to tweak the constitution, America stepped up again and has used the Egyptian military to over throw the great man that is Mohammed Morsi. This is Mohammad Mosaddeq and 1951 all over again. They disposed of him after he nationalized Iranian oil and wanted more of oil profits to go to the public of Iran. Egypt has no oil or economy but America wants to check Islam and its threat to their Israeli Jewish landlords in Israel. The West and the banking and oil industries do not want another political rival in the Middle east and destroying Islamist power in huge Egypt is a serious blow. The Egyptian people are poor and suffering many confused at real issues easily being swayed by international media cartels with their deep pockets.
The threat of political Islam and denial of their victories in the polls happened before in Algeria in 1992. The Muslims proceeded to wage war on the political powers that were defeated and refuse to move out of power. It was a bloody civil war and I see Egypt is headed the same way. Cairo protesters may not be hip to Morsi, but he was elected by wide margins in the country side and they will not take this US backed coop lying down. They are the masses and majority of Egypt and I fully expect Morsi supporters to take to the streets and arms to defeat this zionist American plot to destroy Egyptian democracy.
