Good to see the Alley store downsize and perhaps be history

   The alley store was a oversized weird store that dominated the corner of Clark and Belmont and I often how long this business could last selling t shirts and rebel belt buckles. Another useless store for the youthful I was very pleased to see an advertisement for a total liquidation sale for the Alley. The owner was talking about how the past five years as sales have been rough and it appears that today's young prefer better styles of clothing than the Gothic shit this joker sold and made money over the ears. Clearly the youth of this upcoming generation thinks it is not too hip to look like a skinhead or a vampire that many American teenagers did in this area supporting a lame business like this. Again this is a positive case of changing youthful demographics and times and stores like the Alley will be toast. Mark at the Alley will downsize but doing so will end the mystifying effect his big store of odd things may of had for many generations of youth in the Midwest. I remember hearing teenagers in Central Illinois before the oil shock and rise always make trips up to Chicago for this one particular store in lakeview. I suppose a large eleven story building has been proposed for the Belmont and Clark corner and one can only hope it swallows his location. Perhaps he can move some where else like maybe Morton Grove or some other suburb instead of occupying a good walkable area filled with professionals that no longer wear old leather second hand jackets with patches all over.
