A healthy giraffe named Marius was killed and then butchered and feed to the Lions by zoo staff in Copenhagen some moths ago.
This bizarre ritual on the part of the zoo staff and their handling of this affair has already been questioned as it has outraged many people throughout the world and questioned the purposes of zoos. The explanation of this being done tot even inbreeding was ludicrous as animals can easily be shipped to other zoos around the world and the invitation for families and kids to observe and enjoy the slicing up and skinning of Marius shows to the extent that the modern day zoos have become circuses of butchering their animal prisoners. Zoos are perhaps one of mankind's most cruel ideas and the continuing use of these institutions when most scientists and biologists insist they do the animals I. Captivity a huge disservice. One can say that zoos pretty much serve the interests of the wealthy as they are becoming more and more expensive to visit in this day of age and the spectacle of people baffling at this butchering of a beautiful healthy giraffe at the Copenhagen zoo was just another incident In A long list of zoo depravities through the years. If it was up to me all zoos would immediately be shut down and only a few breeding ones would exist only to serve the interest of helping the endangered species breed. Zoos should not hold animals in captivity for the entertainment amusement of humans. That is what television is for and having a holding pen called a zoo to feed other animals to the lions is not what one can call civilized in a society.
