Gilligan was an original hipster

Bradly Handly
Gilligan from Gilligan's island can be the most annoying character in television history. While I admit my take on television since 1999 is extremely limited totally refusing to partake in the cable monopolies and trash television the networks throw out today, I do have a great knowledge of older television programs and basically watch about a dozen on DVD over and over and over again to pass time in this miserable existence. It has helped make time go and some observations can be found in my new book called Sitcom's Sundays that will be an interesting read once I get an editor and a publisher that wants to waste pages on it. In the meantime one of my observations is the sudden emergence of the coolness and hipness of the original hipster Gilligan. The guy is a total hipster and really belongs in a city setting sipping coconut mixed drinks in a bar with no televisions. The guy was an earlier pioneer of alternating man made by cycles while on the island and really everything he does smells hipster. This outstanding over-looked television program that I say really affected the culture of America. He was a young and a entrepreneur always on cutting edge of technology and coming up with new ideas to moreover conditions of the other castaways of this island. While his wardrobe may of been not has flashy as some of the people one finds  in Brooklyn or the Black Oak section of Gary, Indiana Gilligan did have the wild hat that one will see many urban youth wear to distinguish themselves from the sports college douche  bag crowd that also fills cities. I haven't had Gilligans Island on my regular program rotation in my apartment. I have about four seasons of DVDs going all the time of particular old shows on my wall big screen but this is definitely a television classic if the writing is not the best by today's standards. There are rumors in Hollywood of a Gilligan's island remake and I hope they just concentrate on their return to life after years on the island. Maybe even getting some outrageous idea that they didn't even age while marooned on this time warped mystery island and have come back to society after ...ahh what is it fifty year. Just throwing it out there are movie producers are free to steal this idea.
