Minnie Minosa is dead

Guy Baldwin
Minnie Minosa finally died and will not be playing any baseball for the Chicago White Sox this season. Minnie Minosa has received much attention from baseball idiots in the Chicago region over the years and looking at his stats it clearly was never warranted. The man was no Ernie Banks who passed away a few weeks ago.
Minnie's one hundred and eighty home runs is respectable but not worthy of entrance into Cooperstown. What really made Minnie well know was his various appearances for one game playing while he was like seventy years old and making a mockery in what already is an easy sport to make fun and deride for its complete nonsense. The gimmicks baseball would do over the years such as this Minosa old geezard gag showed the desperation for get media attention to its boring sport that was quickly being eclipsed by football. the Chicago White Sox gave this fool a statue way back in 1983 for about seven seasons of a little bit of above average play on the field.
Minnie is lucky to have been playing baseball instead of sugar cane picking in his native Cuba as there was never really any opportunities in his Cuba for a really black guy both before and after Castro. he is also fortunate to have played in an era that considered all players of bat and ball as living gods who basically swung a bat, ran, and played catch. Minnie would come back to play a game in the seventies and eighties as he was reluctant to leave the field and somehow felt entitled to play with younger players and take up a roster spot for one day despite his aching knees. Minnie  playing baseball late in life was a joke. Minnie Minosa dead at age 99
