The Palumbis wrote this book examining the extreme creatures of the worlds mass oceans and this is an excellent Biology book. the father Stephan is an actual professor at Stanford university while the son is some free loafer and I doubt he had much to do with this book this book called "The Extreme Life Of The Sea" these guys look at the fastest, deepest, oldest, and hottest of the sea beings and how they evolved best to adapt to their unique oceanic environment. I learned much from reading this book as it can be difficult learning on species that quite literally never see light of day or whose habitat cant be fluttered out and explored. Many of these extreme odd creatures the authors write cannot leave their environment even by a few lengths as they can immediately die. Anthony Palumbi a science writer and luckily he was able to convince his father to put his name on this great science book. His father examines some of the most marvelous creatures in the world whose extreme habitat make it impossible to show in nature programs and other televised viewing. They cover everything from plankton to jumping dolphins to flying fish species in this marine book which gives the reader an appreciation of the diverse marine life. The way these fish, reptiles, sea mammals, and shell things manipulate their environment and have evolved to develop the ability to survive and thrive in these extreme habitats is the basis of this interesting science book that is easier to comprehende than some other science marine books. Stephan Palumbi brings his extreme knowledge of marine life in explaining the fascination of survival of these sea creatures. his son is a bit odd looking creature and his contribution to this book is still being questioned by book critics and the elders Palumbi's colleagues as they read this writing.
