The humbling of Nick Digilio
Nick Digilio returned to the airwaves on WGN radio after a month long bout battling a stomach ailment from years of drinking hrd liquor. Nick has become humbled and vowed never to drink and pass out all over the place again as he has a very expensive hospital bill coing and has put a kabash to his good times. Nick realizes that drinking and making fun of himself and others for acting dumb and drunk is not really as humorous after his extended stay in a Swedish hospital. Nick would of rather had been having a good time in a bar with a Swedish bartender but now realizes that years of drinking booze and Jack Daniels caught up to his fifty year old body. Nick may try to talk young and about going to so many movies and concerts on the die of WGN but he now realizes he should of done these otherwise fun things without the aid of hard liquor. As a result of his ordeal, Digilio said he was dropping “Drunks in the News,” a long-running weekly feature on his show. “I’m done with that. It took this for me to realize that I may have over the years offended people because of that segment, taking it too lightly. There were a lot of people who we probably read the stories about and laughed our asses off about who were in trouble, who needed help alcohol was one of the substances early settlers peddled to the red man because they knew it would make them drunk, dumb, and stupid selling valuable land for beads. I still say the reason American students have fallen behind their international peers on out college campuses and how Americans and native born mestizos are so rare is because of the alcohol addiction of the youth. Digilio appeared conciliatory in his battle with beer and "I blame nobody but myself for this,” he told listeners. “It was stupid and irresponsible of me. I have been a drinker for a long time. The tone of the show, if you’ve listened on a regular basis, goes back to booze a lot and my enjoyment of it. Well, I’m never drinking again. It’s done. June 11, 2015, is the last drink that I will ever have.”. Nick Digilio is lucky to be alive as he goes for another fifty year and he vows these next fifty will not be as dumb and fun and his first fifty. Digilio also commented on his radio bit making fun of drunks through the years. As a result of his ordeal, Digilio said he was dropping “Drunks in the News,” a long-running weekly feature on his show. “I’m done with that.
