Henry Giroux was on this is hell podcast recently and decided to talk about a variety of factors killing the economy mainly the destructive nature of the neo-liberal state. he saved his best though tlking about the lunacy of the Republican presidential race and the candidacy of Donald Trump ripping this old billionaire narcissist who thinks he is smarter for running into bankruptcy four times. Giroux says Donald trump's success in polls and in this race thus far represents a new poison that can be as dangerous and threatening as the demagogues faced by the Weimer republic in that was the National Socialist Party. The plutocrats in their need for growing wealth and retaining power are willing to destroy all the public goods to maintain their lavish lifestyle.
Giroux then proceeded to rip Donald Trump a new asshole as a man who uses his entertainment connections and name recognition to elevate to the highest office in the United states, a job he is clearly not dignified or qualified for even being involved in as a donor. The greatest threat to our democracy are these billionaires in suits who continue to abuse the political system to take power and influence away from the public Joe citizen and give more to it to the controllers of stock markets and multi-national corporations.
