ESPN is trying more and more to bring about these sports that don't require human sweat and hard work and instead be a platform for rich guys and their toys. Just this week, the International Drone Racing Association and ESPN announced a multi-year distribution deal. It’s not about to knock Sportscenter out of its time slot, however. The collaboration’s first event, the US National Drone Racing Championships which is like I said just these rich guys who can afford pricey gadgetry thinking they are LeBron James and deserving of airtime on ESPN because they are wealthy and full of free boring time to kill. This should really come as no surprise as we get more and more into a bizarre neurotics techno-cult where with money it will displace sports as a focus of our vision and of network cameras. The parameter of this shift is occurring before our eyes and Drone racing will become large through financial and media marketing taking time away from the meritocratic nature of organized and "human' sport.
For ESPN, though, it’s a different kind of bet—one aimed at the digital generation. The network has struggled to keep up its subscription numbers as more and more Americans drop cable. The network has lost seven million subscribers in two years, along with about $550 million in annual revenue. Somehow these dipstick joyjackers think young people will be flocking in this digital age as they get absolutely no ratings from the younger generation. This analysis is bullshit because ESPN could easily cover skateboarding but their advertising backers know there is no way to make huge profits and jack up the price of skateboards as they can do with purchasing a drone. drones are a menace to society and daily crashes into air travel as happened the other day in England will occur with alarming more frequency before government puts the kibash on the massive manufacturing of drones which the world's elite and profiteers want to be as ubiquitous as guns.
