Don Calfa was one of the many guest actors who made an appearance on the great Barney Miller police detective program that was based in the 34th precinct in new York City. barney Miller the TV show pretty much showed new Yorkers and people on TV for what they usually are and this was ugly and real. One can say that ahhh Barney Miller was reality TV and the many actors that ran across the show were a wide spectrum of folks one comes across the street in Middle America. Now days on TV all you see is models in the roles of actors and this is every the reason to pull the plug on this fake entertainment. For all of the talk of fake news on Facebook and the election few people talk of the fakeness one comes across on television and especially pertaining to the looks of the people in roles you never see in real life as the hot female cop on these multitudinous of police programs in recent years that are not funny or interesting as Barney Miller. New York and its mid-town have long been replaces by wealthy people given wealth their their genes and not working hard in jeans. Only a corporate global class of international investors full of sleaze and sex can create this change and the post-industrial yuppie and sex in the city culture for those willing to play the rules and lucky enough to have been born with the looks to enjoy this new era and economic domination through their own sexual exploitation whether be it straight or gay.
Of course, one of the reasoning is the FOX News type process in hiring where producers and big wigs hire attractive women in hopes of pressuring for sex and date. this is an industry wide trend in television and explanation enough for why only attractive people are in many roles despite their obviously horrendous acting skills. International investors have hoarded the global trade money and want the sex and power and rock n roll which explains a fare well why some coastal cities are dominating cool places and dominat the TV and cultural landscape of America and then use this power to try to tell the rest of the country who it should elect as president. A Don Calfa today would of been regulated to the vegetable stands of Manhattan today selling fruit instead of acting. Don Calfa was an ugly guy. make no mistake of this and he would be described by some people I have k own in the past as being an ugly mother fucker. The ting was it was good to see a dude like him as an actor along with the other old trolls and geezers on this program because but represented the program and era of television back then was not corrupted as television, media, and news is today by either beauty or money.
Calfa was an incredible actor as were many of the "normal" of this era taking years of stage craft to learn a skill and getting hired for it and not for their tallness, ass, looks, or easy ability to go to bed with the powers to be and ones who choose TV roles. A Don Calfa was not going to ever be in the bedroom of some producer and seduce a small-time bit repeating role on this barney Miller great TV show. as far television today it is not likely the case and the psychopaths like Charlie Sheen and their types rule the roost and pick the flock of geese to spread their wings. A Don Calfa is not seen much in TV today being replaced by the Charlie Sheens and ahhh jenny McCarthy's of today who know how to get a role quickly and easily without the hard work of stage mastery and role perfection. the only reason these two were on TV as much was their ability to go to bed on a whim of a big wig.
