Jay Leno stopped appearing on Steve Dahl and Garry Meiers program when he made it big

   Jay Leno knew how to use local media to get his name out as he appeared and di stand up gigs prior to the days of hitting it big and taking over the tonight show. In the days before this car hoarder and man of bogus and obscene pay through NBC for asking celebrities questions, Jay Leno would often gag with local radio hosts. Steve Dahl and Garry Meier are Chicagoland legends having been on the air some forty years in the city as a duo and Leno  at times sounded like he would be a third host on their program. Dahl and Meier reminisce often on their show and did so again how Jay Leno dropped their numbers once he started hosting the Tonight Show and had gone Hollywood on them. Why wouldn't Leno hang with these two bozos as he didn't need to economically rely on boring stand up routines in ballrooms anymore.

Leno never had the radio host son his TV program as he had promised and after 1990 Jay Leno never once again called in or appeared live in the studio as a guest of Dahl and Meier n their 50000 Watt heavily listened to radio program where people from all over the Midwest called in to talk music and celebrity worship.  jay leno moved on to fame and having to call to clowns and promote his appearance while being funny an d saving his best lies was no longer part of his plan. dahl and Meier are nobodies in leno's world after the tonight show and now retirement and he used these pinheads for as much free advertising and airtime he could get
