Many people wonder why Crabby In Patrick McDonnell's Mutts comic strip is crabby all of the time. I have wondered why this amazing species of sea food doesn't have his own comic Sunday Funnies spin off as Crabbie the Crab is perhaps the best comic strip idea and artwork ever prescribed from a comic doctors pen. I love Crabbie and everything this crab chunk of meat stands for and wish the pinhead Patrick McDonnell decides on the day to ditch the cat and bitch and make the move full time either to this crab or squirrel nut droppers as a full time work on his part.
The stories and antics of Patrick's comic strip of earl and Mooch have gotten old and stale many people not even bothering reading it more likely to use it for bottom liners for their pet parakeet or parrot.Patrick McDonnell has an affinity for dogs and I get this but when the real treasure is in the sandbar and bigger opportunities are available in the field of comic art then Patrick needs to do what is right and unique and make that move. Dog comic strips and dogs appearing in the Sunday funnies are a dime a dozen and many of the comic panels in various newspapers are dog and pet themed. I have offered many times to Patrick McDonnell's twitter sight to buy the Crabbie character and recreate it as a daily feature with my unique story lines and doing everything possible to draw crabbie down the same to the shell. After five years of emails and tweets from time to time I have all but given up. I could start my own crab comic strip but surely this guy would put down all attempts and copyright a crab comic strip with the ultimate name and typical attitude a crab in panels should have as er ahhh crab.
The real question though is why is this fucking crab so God dam crabbie all of the time and the rare opportunities Patrick McDonnell brings this character into his dog and cat comic strip he really never makes any explanation. What would make me crabbie all of the time is fake crab meat and imitation bullshit that the some fifteen thousand Sushi restaurants in America make up phony fake news dishes over-charging for bad white tail processed sea food and then claiming that people are getting great
crab meat dressed up so cute as these shitty Sushi style has been so fortunately brought over from the far East. Real Crab meat provides more than double the protein and potassium but in typical neo-liberal Chinese and Japanese capitalism method the serving of cheaper alternatives is a more viable option and that Western suckers are going to eat it up regardless especially the stupid over-paid urban classes. McDonnell's crab not having its own strip and fame is bullshit and a fucking shame.
