Mort Walker's Frankenstein comic strip refuses to die and General Amos Halftrack should consider retirement

Arnold Buckley
Mort Walker is long dead but Beetle Bailey runs on as Walkers family or some hired hack continues to write and make comic panels of this lame comic strip that most people find unfunny and skip over in the newspapers. Not only should this strip retire but General Halftrack especially needed to retire as this guys appearance alone is worthy of putting away the obtuse comic strip with this geriatric general. I hate this strip and everything it stands for an d I have to admit I wasn't much disappointed upon hearing the news that Mort Walker finally croaked like a dead frog last February and I took it for granted this jag fag comic strip known as  beetle Bailey would finally be kaput no longer having to pass over it going through my favorite sections of newspapers. Beetle Bailey has never been funny and the misogyny portrayed towards the female secretary pretty much defines Mort Walker's brain and the era of this comic strip always stuck in the fifties and sixties and it is amazing some of these comic strips absolutely refuse to die off and make room for new and aspiring drawers of character. Somebody should tell General Halftrack in this comic strip that he should consider retirement. This comic strip offers nothing and want even funny in the fifties and someone should tell the current illustrator, the granddaughter and her husband of Mort Walker, that perhaps they should look to putting their drawing talent into something more newer and modern. This strip had run  its course in 1973 and its continually existence in the pap'sers like Hagar the Horrible is a disgrace and a shameful look at the comic book and newsprint industry such resistant to change.
