College sports stadiums need to be in college towns. Casinos need to be in struggling river towns or Indian reservations. The news the other day of this elitist school closing bastards ideas of a tax payer funded college complex for a team nobody cares about the other day drew the Rahm Emanuel haters on the web. This is a group we are very much a part of as he and Mayor Bloomberg are all whats
wrong with today's big city mayors. They are all about promoting better and easier business environment over the concerns and needs of the average citizen. Rahm wants a sports complex for the donors at depaul University's athletic department that somehow think a new stadium will help a program that has sucked for thirty years. Rahm thinks that a midsized complex will bring maybe five more mid-size conventions that otherwise would go to Orlando. he might be right but who really needs a mid-size convention. Perhaps a few hotel owners who plan on building near that site and who likely donated big time.the ultimate goal though is to bring a casino to Chicago as some mafia people hold sway on local politicians brainwashing them it would be a good idea. Casinos only benefit the wealthy who can get money printed for them through their friends at the fed. Most of the working class bubs that go to these casinos would lose out as I am sure the older gang members who use drug sales to venture for more luck. i see alot of them at Rivers casino and the one in Hammond,Indiana. These new developements of the past week clearly show that this mayor is against the people. Until people get behind a mayor that isn't only concerned with rich folks getting richer Chicago will continue to be a laughing joke around the nation. A city more determined to shut down schools and screwing the taxpayer for bad boring college basketball and mid-size conventions peddling flowers or kitchen counters.
