Michael Lewis is a great writer and this book has a few of his writings in the past few years. it is his collection of important articles and essays written from a variety of sources about the many panics and financial miscues we have seen. The journalism collected and presented in this book is Lewis's most important sources and is put together to give a reader a sense of the
cyclical nature of the same bull shit that happens on Wall Street over the past thirty years. This is real financial stuff here and no moneyball baseball bullshit that he help write to get his name more out in the mainstream. This book is a great read and fountain of information on This book goes through many different financial topics that don't need explaining here so basically I will sum up a small part. Basically the best part of this book that totally represents the made up value and nonsense that goes on with this racket is just opeing up the middle of the book and the part that discusses netscape communications. This company showed no abilty to make any profits but became the darling of Wall Street and where is it now. They made a quick buck on this company for the short while it was offered to the public and the shares held by management and venture capitialists went through the roof and they got out before the company went bust. This is a process that those especially in the tech industry strive to repeat and the blueprint was laid out by these early venture capitalists that continue to use these early profits to help others continue this technology Ponzi scheme of tech companies that really are not worth anything to this day. Can anyone tweet twitter?
