An old 1920's building in Mount Prospect became the latest victim of a fire under suspiciou7s circumstqances in the Chicago region. This area is a region that is being marked and built with luxery ondos over the few remaining actual downtonw suburban areas that exist. Old quaint buildings that once serves as a community walking area for such thigs as meats, bakeris, and ice cream are being replaced by these massive Cabrini gree housing complexes. The only difference between the old public housing buildings in Chicago and these cookie cutter condo high rises in Chicago's northwest burbs is the price tag. Mount prospect and Des Plaines has been filled up with these disgusting ugly complexes that have replaces the quaint downtown shopping districts that served the community so many years. These developers don't care about how bad an area looks with mismatched buildings as they want to make maximim profit from space. As bartender of the Itasca Inn I have seen the owner fight to persere his business from community leaders who want to rid their towns history and the places tht served working people in Chicago's suburbs. They ony want big high end resteraunts and buildings in general where many condo sales can make them personally rich.
A Japanese suishi place once again was the start of a fire that ruined one of the last original buildings in downtown Mount Prospect. Once again an Asian business seems to have helped statrt a fire in the Chicao area and one has to wonder why is it always Asian places catching on fire.Do they not know how to turn off the fucking grill? The apartments above the place were all ruined and village leders have to stop alowing resteraunts unde their old apartment buildings. Mount Propspect will try to salavage what they ca from this building thanks to the Japs uncarelessness but the damage has been done. I just hie the owners of Ye old Town Inn are careful about their establishment and the establishment's attempts to transform suburbs like Mount Prospect into othing but highrise condos with no stores to walk. Like the Itasca Inn, the Ye Olde Town Inn is an old bar in an old building who many high end inestors and assholes on village boards don't appreciate what these establshments are for the working man over the years. I will visit and interview the owner soon about his thoughts of this suspicious fire and the future of old shithole bars like his in the upcoming weeks right here on the Left Shark. Sakura Suishi and the four apartments in downtown Mount prospect officially dead at age 82.
