In the era before dumb smartphones and applications the business press needed the next computer and is hit and they were funded by those dumb jackasses that thought by pushing a product it would necessary sell. The world waited for this upcoming revolutionary product that was announced but unexpectedly kept a great secret. How they managed to pull this off and not get any leaks out was most likely the greatest accomplishment of the dumb Segway scam hype of 2001 . When Dean Kamen came out at his press conference when they decided it was enough time of promoting something that people had no idea of coming I almost laughed out of my pants it was such a stupid product and idea. The Segway has revolutionized nothing and nobody buys this dumb crap. Perhaps dumb Dean saw the coming bike popularity and thought he could capture this with a little standing scooter that goes ten miles per hour. The concept of this product and hype really has to go down in the ages of stupidity of mass marketing and as someone so obsessed with movies I am surprised that no dumb movie has been made about this storyline.
