Roadhouse 66 forced to sell food to reopen

  Roadhouse 66 , Chicago

The Chicago council war bars continues verbaten as stipultion for the reopeing of Roadhouse 66 after being burned down some months back will be the ability to generate half of their sales to food. This is pretty much the prequisitate to open up any new liquor establshment these days in the city as attempts to do away with the neighborhood bar and a gathering spot to just drink and discuss politics is frowned upon by government these days. Roadhouse 66 was just doing fine in the heart of young yuppieville for a number of years and was not responsible for the fire that gutted several buildings on the popular walkable Clark Street. It was anothe Jap sushi place that caused this fire and now that Roadhouse 66 is attempting what one would call a comeback there is strong resistence to having this place just be a regular bar. The suburbanization of Chicago's nightlife has been a process undertaken several years now as I have been reporting and basically they want to make all bars lame suburban eateries with bad food much like the Itasca Inn where I have been forced to artend the past decade unable to get a job in a cool bar in the city. Perhaps no one knows more than I do how an area and drinking establishment can go downhill fast from government involvment in how the speakeasy is run. I hope Roadhousee 66 reopens but on their terms and how they want to run their establishment and they may not include selling shitty wings and burgers with cheap french fries.
