Richard Roeper debunks conspiracies

Cecil Brewster
Richard Roeper seeks to debunk conspiracies and suspicious legends. His little read book from 2008 called "Debunked". He goes through several infamous urban legends and conspiracy ideas debunking them in his usual wit and criticism. In a chapter about the vast left-wing conspiracy Roeper practically lists all the right wing hosts in the media in tis wry short chapter. He goes on to discuss more of his poker love with on-line poker conspiracy thoughts that he feels are out of line considering how much he loves this hobby.
Sports and gambling takes up a huge part of this book as this is one of the few things a Roeper considers himself a true expert to dispel rumors and innuendoes. One of his chapters in defense of Starbucks cold not have been written better than if Howard Schultz had been given a pen for this chapter himself. Roeper also dwells on the war on Christmas and ridicules the notion that a secular America is conspiring in order to make this season less joyless and more miserable. I'm surprised secular America doesn't get all the blame when these malls start closing down and opportunities for Santa impersonators getting a lap feel on kids ends with this stupid retail tradition and forced holiday support that many do t care nor want. Roeper goes into the most loopy conspiracy of all those who believe that our government was so show involved in 9/11 and this is basically the only part of the book that gets it and is worth reading. Aside from this chapter this bookies clearly a pass and I am sure book sales were very low from film critic who attempts to be a social critic with this book about the crazies and the conspiracies Putin the public. At least Roeper ends the book talking about conspiracies in some selected movies as this is a topic Roeper has a bit 'ore knowledge to write about.
