Black leaders and Jesse Jackson flock to Jesus Garcia

Troy York
Danny Davis has always wanted to be mayor of Chicago. The long time cook coutry politican endorsed jesus Chuy" Garcia for mayor over rahm "snake' Emanuel and he was joined by several other prominent and not so prominen black leaders in the past week who also see their conditions improve if jesus becomes the next mayor of Chicago. Emil Jones supported Emanuel in the past but has quickly shifted alliegences in the race as he has realized that rahm has done nothing for the black community in the city of Chicago.
The message these black leaders are sending to barack Obama is that that his boy hasn't done shit for the majority of working class residents in the city and why would they ever thought that someone like Emanuel would ever do. Rahm Emanuel serves the upper classes of urban classes employed in the world of finance where the ability to set ones wages is the goal of maintaining and preserving. When one hears about Emanuel raking in 18 million in his time before becoming a congressmen and then running for office they need to realize who this man is ultimely serving in holding public office. The Reverend Jesse Jackson has also thrown his hat for Garcia although any endorsement from the reverend only helps the candidate he is opposing and I bet many in the chuy Garcia camp shuddered when they got the news that jesse was going to endorse Jesus. Jesse is very irrelevant these days and needs to just stay away from political issues and concentrate on police shootings and little league baseball scandels as since he has endorsed Garcia the poll numbers have indicated that Emanuel now holds a double digit lead in the mayoral race. There is still plenty of time in the race and chuy Garcia needs to realize the more he courts black votes the more he is likely to drop in the polls as if black folks cared anymore who was mayor of the city someone like Rahm Emanuel would never got in the office such overwhelmingly four years ago.
