Russia has a new all-sports network which was the brainchild of Vladimir Putin who saw the success of ESPN with distracting the people of America to what really should matter in society. What I can't understand how long it took for Mr Putin to realize that having an all-sports network blasting sports to a male population can do wonders with quelling dissent. A dedicated federal sports network called match TV will be an outlet to serve and praise the oligarchs of Russia and the launching of this network is an attempt to change the Russian character as this goal faces a dilemma. You see Russians are not usually sports viewing addicts and sports has never received the much attention corporate masters have sought and established in the United States.
Whether this attempt by the Russian ruling class will achieve the same success is yet determined and starting from scratch. The attempt by Vladimir Putin and his cronies to have sports pushed through Russia society and establish traditions where they don't exist is primarily because they want to lessen any opportunity for Russian and have time to repined the system and seek justice for grater democracy. Match TV general producer named Tina Kandelaki states that Americans have numerous choices for their TV of sports and Russians have never this and this network is starting from a blank state. 
A blank state is basically what you get from a sports-obsessed culture and Putin and his cronies imported many experienced sports television executives as consultants on this project to transform Russia into a mindless sports devoted population instead of not being aware how rich people are ripping off your country which this country has seen occur from our business class and the money their pour into media and sports.
This is basically the function professional sports is used by the ruling class as by promoting entertainment as much as they do the lower-class ignorant fools have more outlets of distraction and no political involvement in shaping their country and instead yet the money classes get bigger and more powerful within the state. This state network and money will also feed into the large established global leagues such as premier league soccer and Champions League soccer in Germany giving the sports industrial complexes in these foreign countries more power, money, and influence with politicians and investors. Sports is very important for the New World Order and the leaders making cultural decisions to benefit the few with deep-pockets and prevent any holes from developing in their pants.
