Photojornalists have jumped on the poor plight of the Afghanistan women many of whom most likely had no choice whether to have been married or not. The relentless imagery of these old women with dead husbands the result of their backwards violent culture for some reason amazed western journalists and the liberal media. "It's very difficult for these women culturally and economically," Bronstein told On The Coast's Gloria Macarenko. "Most of them are uneducated, so they don't have as many options for jobs. … Sometimes they're forced to marry in-laws.". These are women who were proud to wear the veil and never fought for their rights likely never wanting their rights as independent women. Instead theiy were proud to be breeders of their tribes and of islam and the violent nature of their culture now find themselves at the mercy of the pathetic western press seekig sympathy for these "poor" creatures.
