brazil is a country on the brink as expectations of great growth and economic power has not panned out for this nation of millions. Thousands of protesters took to the streets in the major cities of Brazil to protest the illegitimacy of Brazilian president Michel Temer. The senate had installed this man has leader after impeaching leftist president Dilma Rouseff. many have pretty much called out what this impeachment is for what it is and this is a conservative coup. A potential civil war in Brazil is in the making in South America's largest nation.
Temer has faced daily protests in Brazil's main cities since he took office. Artists, intellectuals and politicians both left-leaning and moderate have also rejected him acting as president, not only for their opposition to Rousseff's impeachment but also for Temer's naming of an all white-male Cabinet that is trying implement more conservative policies.
Protesters who have occupied a federal government building in Rio for a week has staged daily concerts against Temer and his administration. Among those that appeared are Grammy award winner Caetano Veloso and "City of God" actor and singer Seu Jorge. Neither are supporters of Rousseff's Worker's Party. Soccer great Pele was off away and no where to be seen and has been mute in this crisis owning his loyalty to conservatives who throw money. Many of these protesters against this new president are artists who realize he has no business being leader and given the presidency by this right-wing conspiracy in Brazil. The News media has been ignoring this crisis in Brazil because well basically the US could give a shit about politics in other countries. it is also because the corporate media does not want the world to know that basically in Brazil you have officially the first corporate power grab against a democratically elected leader.
