Steve Dahl is from the generation before computers and also doesn't get todays media. The WLS radio talk show legend discussed a few subjects that rattle his brain and this week it was two topics that must of shattered the cranium of this mans massive overweight girth. Dahl couldn't believe how much local media attention was give to covering some expansion to Manny's Deli, which is a downtown Jewish deli and an institution in downtown Chicago serving Koshar food since 1948. Ken Raskin, the third-generation co-owner of Manny's Deli & Cafeteria, asked his son, fourth-generation co-owner Dan Raskin, when the latter wanted to add a deli counter to the South

While it has always sold Jewish deli-style foods, Manny's has existed for most of its South Loop locality without a counter like all of the classic Jewish delis and the attempt by this owner to had tis classic addition has been strenuous. That local media in Chicago would take out time away from constant bad news and ghetto criminal shootings and cover this development should be seen as a media positive. For the meat head Dahl though it was an annoyance and he covered much airwave tie to rant about the problems of local media coverage on this Manny's deli expansion thinking it wasn't a newsworthy event. Manny's deli is located at Manny's Cafeteria and Delicatessen, 1141 S. Jefferson St and is worth a visit all of the time.
