The University of Chicago took a big step in asserting free speech telling incoming freshman there shall be no safe zones established on the University dispelling the availability of potential speakers and lecturers from not speaking due to their controversial message. Right\-wing think tanker and conservative Charles Lipson teaches political science at the university and is a frequent guest of Chicago's own Milton Rosenberg. The topic of free speech and how students at the nations universities were trying to quell this right was a frequent notion of tis professor. Lipson would of been proud as an academic that freshman and other students at the University of Chicago now have to deal with some of the most repugnant and repulsive speakers on their campus if invited to speak. Lipson has been concerned for decades about the creeping undemocratic principles of the left on our nations campuses and he always hoped a day like tis would come where the right would gain a major victory ensuring free speech would prevail. Of course, people will still disrupt and confront the most controversial speakers invited to campus and how the University of Chicago will settle a confrontation is still not going to be seen. Professor Lipson though is more relaxed that he is working at a University that actually put it in writing that safe zones will not be established and student activists will not be able to derail free speech and speakers who the do not agree. There’s a strong case to be made that most students favor a liberal conception of campus free-speech rights; they’re just quieter about their preferences than the activists who believe that open debate of controversial subjects is harmful.Milt Rosenberg's opinion on this matter was not established as the geriatric ninety year old former academic and professor at the university has not been on any radio outlets in this city for almost a year.
