Professor Dana Wittmer spent a lot of her colleges research dollars studying human trafficking and the effectiveness of anti-trafficking attempts by the US government. the study basically didn't report anything that was not otherwise known and made no mention of the role wealthy investor class of immigrants--in order to cut costs--are the leading factors to why the misery and human trafficking even occur. This is even more of a reason to vet and get tough on our nations immigration policy and not have one where basically people can buy themselves or the smuggled into the country. professor Wittmer spent two years analyzing data and has come to the conclusion the states can spend more dough on preventing the influx of migrants who are often in a slave-like condition.
Wittmer is lucky to live and teach in a land where there is no forced burka and other insane gender laws based on eighth century religious superstitious. perhaps Wittmer can do a research study of non-Western society and why human misery and the lure of smuggling operations and trickiness is such a part of their ingrained culture. Human smuggling is a problem of other countries and open borders that the West has allowed a small upper class to ease travel and movement of people and until this problem is eliminated there will always be human smuggling in America.
