Steve Dahl and Garry Meier radio show makes fun of 606 trail and joggers deaths

Jordon Morgan
Steve Dahl and his partner Gary Meier were on the radio the other day on WLS radio in Chicago and the topic of the new 606 trail in Chicago was the topic. Dahl and Meier went on to say why on earth would the city put a trail that goes through the heart of barbarian Latin gang-bang neighborhoods of Logan Square and Humboldt Park. Would they not expect this trail to be extremely unsafe as it warns residents to not take the trail alone at night. Dahl and Meier were aghast that the city would spend this much money on the old Bloomingdale trail line to extend what is quickly becoming a gentrified Logan Square into the two decade gentrification of Humboldt park. HumHumboldt park was a section where Blacks and Latins in the sixties cheerfully pushed out White people but now the real estate developers realize that bringing in more Asians and Whites will earn huge profits. this transition takes a lot of time and in the meantime attempts such as destroying old rail lines into trail lines will come with its consequences. The nightly muggings and beatings that Steve Dahl and his partner described with glee and laughter is a sad indicator that Chicago still retains much of the areas hood. Eventually the Blacks and Puerto Ricans will be pushed out into the areas where rail passenger lines are still a common noise and traffic impediment inconvenience. Chicago's wealthier neighborhoods long ago nailed out their railroad lines where they can walk and drive freely without delays. What was really disturbing was Dahls joking of women joggers being found decapitated in alleys at a time when women joggers are being killed all over the country including the high profile cases of Katrina Verano and Vanessa Marcotte which time will show were both intentionally stalked through their use of social media.  For Dahl and Meier to think that somehow women joggers being gruesomely battered and strangled on a path is somehow amusing shows the depths these two are willing to go to lower themselves as Chicago's top shock jocks of the past thirty years.
