Becky Quick interviewed David Henry who laughs at the demise of the strip mall as they spoke in a recent fortune magazine article and column that the magazine has given to this trophy wife and news hawk. Becky quick has been mentioned before how her seduction and marriage to a television producer elevated her career. All the stores henry mentioning that were continually opening were large chains such as Subway,7/11, TJ Maxx and Dunkin Donuts. David Henry basically admitted that the cheap cruddy strip mall that offers of nothing of aesthetic value for the community. Henry admits that a generational shift is headed and that strip malls need to appeal to younger folks if they are to survive in this cyber age but allowing the same lame stores to dominate their bad products such as a Subway is not abut going the way people want to have as an experience. The strip mall usually doesn't have anything quaint or appealing for anyone whether it be a cool antique store or a great clothing hip store. the strip malls survives for the corporate neo-liberalism global system and this is something you will not hear a David Henry admit to and mention in interviews with a Becky quick. retail has been struggling because it has become a chore and is not cool and as America becomes more multi-cultural people don't want to step foot into this enforced diversity by our corrupt leaders more concerned with global citizens with dollar instead of people born in here. In the years leading up to the financial recession greedy developers were getting paid making more malls than there was a need in the developing scam that goes on to this day in suburbia. The cheaper concrete buildings the suburbs can create the quicker the need to replace them and this is the ultimate goal of developers that a Becky Quick would not mention. Both of these individuals would also fail to mention the increase of strip malls has directly lead to a service economy that increased the inequalities within this country and why as this country had a strong manufacturing base there was little room in ritzy downtowns for cheap strip mall business to even exist. the existence of the strip mall is to create assets whether for local government or private landowners and basically it doesn't matter to them whether these stores are empty or filled with something. Increasingly these days the crap that strip malls are filled with add nothing and little except for the huge corporate holder to own some leverage in dealing with continuing the 0% loans.
