I am not medieval expert on the ancient Persian religion of Zoroastrian but I would be willing to gamble and run an Aztec gauntlet that this religion could not be nearly one percent as evil as the Islamic faith has been since its founding by some ragged dude named Mohammed in 632. Sunni Muslims predominate in the Middle East for now and the rivalry and hatred for Shiite folks who go by Islam can easily be attributed to why these "religious' people have so much evil, hatred, and wickedness within their spirts and souls.
In Saudi Arabia they often encourage kids to portray and incredible hated of the Shiite in school plays and religious primary educational services and the rejection and wanton inhuman portrayal of Shiite's by their fellow Muslims should make the Iranians rethink of what it is to be Muslim and why they are still Muslims in 2016. The Persian tribal people living in the Middle east should consider reverting to this once powerful and pound Zoroastrian heritage of their pre-Islamic ancestor many of whom were compelled to become Muslims quite literally by blade of steel. The ancient Zoro's were pretty hip and cool warriors often brandishing small swords and wearing masks as they battles the invading first Muslim invasions and the decaying old eastern roman empire. it would be cool to see this zorro culture come back in modern day Iran. 
The intolerance of the Sunni towards their brethren is amazing and will continuality spark regional conflict and terrorism until these Shiites come to an understanding by proclaiming to be Muslims they stroke the furor of the Sunni mind. the whose slaughter in Yemen is based on this sectarian divide and one can conclude perhaps if the Shiites became Zoroastrians (or Hindus, Buddhists, Christians) there might be much less of this conflict of supremacy of who can be considered a true Muslim. 
The Yemeni conflict is under the radar by western press and there is little understanding why there will be perpetual warfare as long as you have these two groups calling themselves Muslim when one- especially the Sunni- refuse to consider the Shiite Muslims. Sunnis will continue to do a massive bombing campaign against these people in Sunni lands as long as the Shiite survives as the Sunni will always consider the Shiite heretics. Which again brings us to why Persians even became a different sect to begin with likely trying to keep some distinct identity in the mass terror of the fall of their empire by Arab invaders. Iranians need to drop the Muslim and Shiite shtick and get back to the faith that made them so great throughout history. Persians need to bring their fellow Shiite Arabs out of Arabian peninsula and integrate them into Iran and make a new nation and empire within the old and quit these cross order overseas insurgencies that accomplish nothing except additional arms sales on the international weapons sales market for the profiteers.
