I have always said that if Ving Rhames had stayed on CBS TVs Tour of Duty the show would of lasted as long as M*A(S*H. Tour of Duty was a boring Vietnam TV show that was on a low budget and didn't have any swearing in it and was about as realistic as Zulus hunting and eating Penguin. Ving Rhames starred in season ones "Burn bay Burn" episode of Tour of Duty and his appearance was the highlight of the first season of Tour of Duty. Ving Rhames and his character Tucker disappeared as he left to join another brigade and jumped ship from Zeke's platoon because he knew Zeke was a racist fuck along with others depicted in this episode such as Ennis and so forth.
Ving Rhames would go on from this episode of Tour of Duty and have a bigger Hollywood career being in some movie with the gimp and where he almost got butt whacked by rednecks. I can't remember that movie as the whole nineties are a lost to me doing drunk drugs and listening to bad band ahhh like Blur while on the ten year track at Central Illinois University.
Tour of duty was a program where the black cast members were weak and hardly stood up to the injustices and crazy orders set aside from on top and it needed someone like Ving Rhaes for much more than just one bam episode. The reason Tour of duty is not in its rightful place as a TV classic like MASH or Hogans Heroes is because its lack of star quality and fame. I mean this is a show that considered Malcom Jamar warner in season three as a major guest star. You know the son for the Cosby Show. Unbeleivabel
