A beautiful hybrid polar-brown bear “Tips” was gunned down at Osnabrück Zoo after escaping her enclosure with another bear her brother called “Taps”.
More than four thousand visitors were in the zoo when panicked staff ushered people to safety in a monkey house. Zoo officials hastily shot the beast for no apparent reason freaking out and paranoid of potential lawsuits should this bear have mauled one of the four thousand people in this Osnabruck zoo which basically is actually a prison for wild animals for profit and entertainment. taps will be all alone in the enclosure as he is evidently glad now that he didn't take off on the run like his sister who zoo security quickly terminated with one bullet to the big brain of this hybrid bear. This the bear was desperate to get out havi g been contained to a small enclosure and space as zoo officials and advocates ignore the need of these massive animals for large space yet zoos continue to be source of destination for animal lovers ignoring this fact in their selfish need for entertainment. Tips decided to make a break for it and her soul should be rewarded for this bracve attempt for animal freedom. Zoos are a destination of terror for wild animals and any animal lover pushing the captivity of animals should be arrested for treason and are fake animal caretakers. hey are there in zoos to support the system of animal cruelty. We reacted immediately with the team; to protect visitors we had to shoot the animal,” the zoo’s business manager Andreas Busemann told the Deutsche Presse-Agentur news agency.
Visitors and zoo officials were devastated by the killing. Tips and Taps were born 10 years ago to a brown bear and a polar bear, and have lived together ever since. They were a fascinating pair because they exhibited the behaviors of both brown bears and polar bears.
PETA expert Peter Höffken blasted the killing, saying that Tips “simply wanted to be free, and she paid for it with her life.” Local police said it had to be done to protect zoo visitors. How many more animals need to be slaughtered not by blood thirsty hunters seeking trophys but animals are now being slaughtered in the actual pens of captivity by scientists and officials who claim t have the best interest of the animal at heart.
