Jerry Lewis is dead

   Jerry Lewis was a bad nerd comedian that a bunch of dead folks thought was funny or tolerated in movies because he was often associated with someone cool like Dean Martin. Many remember Jerry Lewis as some old dude hosting a telethon for years as Jerry hosted this charity drive for autistic kids for some  forty years and I remember that he hosted a TV talk show that lasted for a very short time. This was an era that my dad and I watched alot of talk show programs back in this time period and he looked eagerly for the Jerry Lewis talk show program to come out.

I recall this show tanking and Jerry Lewis was not ever funny on this program aside from one opening monologue where Jerry came out with a duck and the duck stole the whole show just staying in Jerry's arms without an explanation until the end. Jerry Lewis never was really funny and watching his old movies and television appearances one gets the impression that Jerry was an eccentric and neurotic asshole. The only legitimate watchable movie Jerry Lewis ever did was 1979's King of Comedy" where a fan kidnaps a Johnny Carson type talk show host in order for the comedian to get a television appearance. I am always amazed at how many celebrities y lazy father has outlived and I added another one with jerry lewis name to remind him his time is coming as more and more of these old people drop like flies on roadkill. If Jerry Lewis was a straight man like the character he played in this dark movie perhaps jerry would of been a remembered interesting entertainer worthy of respect and retrospect in death. Jerry Lewis is dead at the age of 98.
