Ed Gein was a sicko crazed opioid addict in small town Wisconsin and one of Wisconsin's infamous unsolved crimes should just be written up and blamed on him. Ed Gein was one of the most disturbed individuals robbing graves and killing mainly older women but clearly this guy may have started off with any crime of opportunity. In October of 1953 Lacrosse ,Wisconsin hosted a big high school football game which most of the town attended as even back then rural redneck towns were obsessed with high school football. Evelyn Grace Hartley was baby sitting for a professor that had to attend this game and put this young woman at risk because he didn't want the hassle of taking a three year old to essentially a boring high school football game.
Supposedly Ed Gein was in town or the area at this time and this makes him suspect number one but for some reason police long ago dismissed the idea this quack was involved in this crime. Now I don't know but one does not have to be a professional investigator to see that one of Americas most prolific and infamous serial killer likely committed this same disturbing and sick crime as Evelyn was snatched form the professor's home and left a trail of blood and was never seen or heard form again.
This really is a baffling strange case and how there could n ever be any arrests is amazing and just he fact that psychopath Ed Gein was visiting relatives a few blocs away at the time one would think make him automatic suspect number one. Perhaps the resistance of a young woman made him shy about repeating this victim or one of Gein's fellow psychotic relatives helped him commit this crime and carry Ms Hartly away as the whole town was watching football. Gein's farmhouse in rural Wisconsin looked like the Muster's home and one has to wonder if police should dig up the entire property they would find this girls remains. Police also may have been intimidated to really pursue and push this psychopathic soul and it being bad karma to make this guy confess for the disappearance of Eveyne Hartly.
Evelyn was takes two blocks to a car the blood trail and hounds established and her blood was on several properties form professor Viggo Rasmussen, whom many also consider may of been a prime suspect with this teens abduction as clearly being a professor in the sexually-repressive fifties would of given this man much thought as more and more young women were entering schooling. If not the professor himself who hired Eveyln to babysit then our moneuy and investigation is closed on ED Gein himself and the crimes so horrific maybe police didn't want toe panic stricken residents to know the full extent of this mans crimes in the mid-fifties at the height of the cold war and what was done to a baby sitter in what was a high profile crime for back then in the emerging mass medium of television that was coming out.
