In Hogans Heroes season four episode 17 a loser associate of Gruppenfuhrer Herman Freitag was humiliated and embarrassed throughout the episode and he finally decided to take laws into his own hands after years of abuse in the Germany army as a subordinate. Brigadefuher Mannheim was treated by shit by both Herman and his female associate Elise as they waited for Colonel Robert Hogan and Colonel Klink to get to the motel room and the gorgeous buxom blond actress enjoyed a few minutes of screen action trying to seduce Colonel Hogan into giving up information on the Manhattan Project that the Germans knew little at the time during World War II.
Whether this actress was one of the many conquests of Bob Crane and whether there is a video o it is not known but wold be priceless if ever discovered. Anyway Herman had set up a proposal that Hogan had to take and eventually decide he mus liquidate for knowing about the operation as Herman tried to blackmail the American POW colonel into finding information on this top secret of
all top secret news during World War II.
Mannheim shot Herman in Colonel Klink's office and Hogan was shocked and appalled telling Klink to get a doctor and this enraged Mannheim who admitted his guilt and went to the next room to finish the job. However had Hogan said Freitag was deader than a doornail and told Klink and Schulz to hit the ground as Mannheim was going to come out gun slinging after being tricked and after a quick shootout the Gestapo apprehended this nut and arrested him for the death of a fellow SS officer in a compelling and interesting Hogan; Heroes episode. This is perhaps one of the more typical Hogan's Heroes episode and a rare one where death cam to the camp of Stalag 13 but again the major disappointing was television censors were so bad we don't even get the pleasure of seeing a SS officer shoot another arrogant officer.
