In rural Taiwan outside the glitzy cities of this Asian island country that China covets there stand many farming communities that still exist in and around Tapei. The farmers were so sick of losing fruit harvest and other food material that some farmers in Taichng city put up these elaborate traps to catch the Center Formosa Bears along with Monkey and Wild Boars and from the pictures of the animals seen kept in captivity for punishing the animal amounts to animal cruelty and is just sick. One Center Formosa Bear named Nappy was caught and left into the trap for the amusement of the local people before veterinarians were called in to release this defenseless animal that
was obvious being tortured and in total pain suffering for hours before its release. The farming community needs to come to grip in Taiwan with the often endangered wildlife in this crowded island nation and I would be willing to be that this rare odd bear is a endangered species of some type of rare Bear. The Taiwanese Bear suffered many arm and moth injuries and no farmer was arrested for setting up these traps but were strongly encouraged it removed it and invest in electrical fences to stop Center Bear foraging into their fields for some food these people have displaced in the Bears long time habitat making them go to other extremes in the search for food. This poor bear was rehabilitated and taken care of but declared unfit and unable to live in the wild again and was shipped to a zoo in China,
