Another pathetic portrayal of the red man will be coming to the silver screen. the popular actor Johnny Depp will dress up outlandishly and portray the character tonto who is a sidekick to the Lone Ranger serial comic and video character. Johnny Depp is facing some critism for taking this role that could of gone to a Native American actor but once again hollywood whitewasheds any roles for real American Indians to portray ourselves in movies. Tonto can be a positive character but you can rest assure that asshole like Johnny Depp will not nail it. He will clearly make Indians look like savages and bafoons and this should come as no surprise as this is the way White people have portrayed native people since 1492.
Johnny Depp should of known better to take this role and I am shocked that he didn't want the lone ranger role instead of Tonto. In the future these white liberal actors need to step aside and speak out against stereotypical characters. the reality of the situation is Johnny Depp is all about the money and will take any role he thinks will keep him on top of the Hollywood pyramid so taking this role is no surprise.
