In the sixties when comedies were simple and fun there was always the chimpanzee episode. every program somehow managed a chimp on their program and in Hogan's Heroes there was a chimp that dressed like little Labou and was called Freddie. This monkey somehow managed to escape a bombing of a zoo and found his way into the barracks of Stalag 13. over on the other side of the planet a castaway of characters marooned on a deserted island found themselves in the company of a chimpanzee. The chimp dressed in articles of clothing one would normally associate with bob Denver's character Gilligan and this was the basis of the plot. the skipper somehow managed to think that a voodoo curse or something turned his little buddy into a monkey. There were several monkey and small ape episodes of Gilligan's island and the question of the day has to be which sixties monkey was the most adorable and cuter between the two who showed up on these programs. After some discrepancy among the judges it was determined that the monkey that appeared in Hogan's Heroes and Gilligan's Island might be the same chimp so no winner nor decision can be made on this question. both were funny and cute and would make great pets if not for the fact that the chimp temperament could meant that a finger or toe or two would be chomped off
